Is every channel of company promotion safe for the entrepreneur? We give the floor to attorney Monika Bogdał:

‘TikTok and other social media platforms have been fighting an uneven battle over user data for years. They are primarily hindered by the RODO, which imposes obligations to determine the scope of the data collected, to inform users about the purposes of their processing and introduces a number of restrictions on performing marketing activities on them. However, by installing an app on a mobile device, we give it additional access to contact data or files stored on the device. Therefore, apps on company phones can also pose a risk to an organisation’s cyber security.

As lawyers, we often help clients perform an analysis of how they use the apps, which includes an assessment of the impact of processing data on them from the perspective of the RODO or the risk to cyber security. We also develop procedures for their safe use.’
